Philippians 2:5-7 You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had. Though He was God, He did not think of equality with God as something to cling to. Instead, He gave up his divine privileges; He took the humble position of a servant. Jesus taught us, “The greatest among you is the servant!” Yet, we tend to think that having others serve us makes us more important. But having the heart to serve actually reveals personal character that is secure enough in its identity
In John 4, while Jesus talked with a lonely and shame-ridden Samaritan woman, His disciples brought Him food and urged Him to eat… John 4: 31-34 “Rabbi, eat something.” But He said to them, “I have food to eat that you know nothing about…My food,..is to do the will of Him who sent Me… Jesus did not eat their food….He was too hungry for God’s purpose to be fulfilled in the Samaritan people.
