EXPAND YOUR WORLD BY SERVING

2 Timothy 3:1-2 ….In the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves….

One of the greatest problems in our culture today is self-centeredness. In our quest for the American Dream, we have become a Me-oriented, “selfie” focused society. We seem desperate to be noticed and served by others. This attitude is diametrically opposed to the Kingdom principles Jesus taught:

John 12:25 Anyone who loves their life will lose it, while anyone who hates their life in this world will keep it for eternal life.

Self-focused living robs us of true satisfaction and joy in life. If the orbit of our lives extends only to what revolves around us, what a very small circle that is! True joy comes instead, by giving your life away to others. We do this by focusing not on ourselves but by serving those around us. The minute we expand our hearts to serve the needs of others, our own lives become universally larger and more purposeful.

Mark 10:43-45 …whoever desires to become great among you shall be your servant. And whoever of you desires to be first shall be slave of all. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.
