TRUST GOD IN THE DETOURS

Genesis 50:20 You intended to harm me, but God intended it all for good. He brought me to this position so I could save the lives of many people. God’s will is frequently fulfilled in ways that we do not expect. What may seem like a major detour, will actually be the pathway of God’s purpose! Joseph’s dreams as a teenager portrayed him as a ruler over his own brothers. When they tried to kill him and then sold him into slavery, it seemed as though his life purpose had been permanently derailed. When he was sent to prison for refusing to sin, he was sure that the dream had been dashed. But instead, these difficult detours were pathways to God’s sovereign plan. The detours built character in Joseph and gave him the grace and wisdom he needed for his ultimate calling. God works exactly the same way in our own lives. He will use trials, persecution and “detours” to expand our skills, lengthen our endurance and solidify our character. If you find yourself on a detour that feels like a disaster, don’t give up hope. Keep moving forward. For just over this hill, God’s divine destiny awaits. Romans 8:28 And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose for them.
