BLOOD TRANSFUSION

1 John 1:7 ...the blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin.

When one receives a blood transfusion, life is passed from one person to another in order to save that life. The donated blood is carefully screened and tested for possible infectious agents, such as viruses, that could be passed to the recipient of the transfusion. It is critical that the blood is pure from any corrupting agents.

Since Adam and Eve, we all have inherited a corrupted DNA and a sinful bloodline. It shows up in our natural bodies as tendencies to diseases like cancer, obesity, diabetes, or alzheimers. It can show up in our behavior, as inclinations toward addiction, depression and even violence.

The truth is, we not only have disease tendencies, we also have sin tendencies that run in our bloodline.

So, to remedy the blood-line issue, Jesus came and shed His own perfect sinless blood on our behalf, giving us a “blood transfusion”!

Jesus restored our spiritual DNA through the shedding of His own blood on the cross. It is through faith in Him, that all our sin-traits we struggle with can be transformed into God-traits.

2 Peter 1:3-4 (NLT) By His divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know Him, the One who called us to Himself by means of His marvelous glory and excellence. And because of His glory and excellence, He has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share His divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires.

2 Corinthians 5:17 (NLT) Anyone who belongs to Christ is a new creation. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!
