LEADER’S DISCIPLESHIP - Week of Jan. 8-14, 2009
Three Basic Principles In Leadership
1. People generally go only where their leaders lead or allow them to go.
2. Leaders can take their people only as far as they themselves are able and willing to go.
1) through proper training and the right kind of
experience.
2) through proper selection of personnel.
3) recognize special gifts given to those you lead.
4) through specialization… rather than “Jack of all Trades”.
5) through enlisting stronger people, more people, or technology
to accomplish what one cannot accomplish personally.
6) recognize the two aspects of ability:
- Willingness to put forth the effort needed to accomplish the
task.Willingness can be developed by:
getting involved in the work
understanding the need
understanding the results of an action
dedication to the task at hand
defining life priorities
disciplining one’s self
perseverance
- Developing ones gifts and talents through deliberate,
systematic, continuous learning and practice.
